HAVE A PROPER PERSPECTIVE OF YOURSELF

HAVE A PROPER PERSPECTIVE OF YOURSELF

Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. —Ezekiel 28:17

Pride… I is right in the middle of the word.  Pride is self-centered and selfish.  Pride is all about “I.”  This was Satan’s sin and it is also the sin of man that brings the problems of mankind.  How many are those who are proud because of their beauty?  Satan, when he was the guardian angel of God, allowed his beauty to cause him to be prideful.  Oh, how that is the issue of so many people today.  So many of the “glamorous” are so prideful as they strut before the world on camera and the printed page or as they just walk through this world—- with “proud hearts.”

Because of this their thinking is corrupted.  They do not apply properly the knowledge that they have and their splendor has sinfully polluted them.  Look at so many of the lives of the “rich and famous” as recorded by video and printed page.  They walk around all beautified, but their lives are a wreck.  Being beautiful and having snapshots of splendor do not erase the utter corruption that is their life.  Who we really are is what we are in the shadows when nobody is around.  God knows exactly who we are and what we think!

Pride… leads to corrupted minds just as we are told in II Timothy 2:26— They need to “come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”  The same sins of Satan are utilized by him to corrupt the thinking of those who do not know Jesus, to trap them and to hold “them captive to do his will.”  Lost people are prisoners of Satan and are doing his will.  Let us not forget this, brothers and sisters— they are being held captive to do Satan’s will.  Satan is the instigator, the task-master of all evil.  So let us remember that about those who do not know Jesus— they are Satan’s prisoners.

We as believers, fellow followers of Jesus, know that these “bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” (I Corinthians 6:19-20).  And we honor God by taking care of these bodies that He resides in, but we do not make idols of them.  We do not become prideful because of our body and we do not allow our minds to be corrupted because of their splendor.  No, we are to utilize these bodies for His purposes.  So, are we?  Spiritually?  Mentally?  Physically?  Focused on His desires?  Let us have the proper perspective on these bodies that our Lord has given us stewardship of— caretakers of… for a brief period of time.

Yes, Dear Father, may I be faithful with this body You have given me for these brief moments of time.  Oh, that I would grow Spiritually while in this body.  May I grow mentally while in this body and may I grow in the proper physical care of this body.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus— all for Your honor and glory.  So may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghowDhd-GUM
