TRUST IN, DELIGHT IN AND COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO THE LORD

TRUST IN, DELIGHT IN AND COMMIT YOUR WAYS TO THE LORD

Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. —Psalm 37:1-6

The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him, but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming. —Psalm 37:12-13

Wow… there is a lot of evil happening all around us.  But, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, “Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.”  Even though “The wicked plots against the righteous and gnashes his teeth at him, but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.”  There is coming a day when—

“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things have passed away.  He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” —Revelation 21:4-5

Yes, we are moving toward that time.  So let us delight in our Lord, knowing “he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.  He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.  Again, let us—

  • Trust in the LORD
  • Delight in the LORD
  • Commit our way to the LORD

Will we?  Even with all the wickedness going on around us, will we trust Him while doing good and being faithful?  Will we delight ourselves in Him, knowing He will give us the desires to desire in our hearts?  Will we commit our way to Him, knowing He will act according to His will and for our best interests?  Oh, may we do so even when we do not understand so much.  Yes, Father, may it be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3YGczmlbV8
