IN EVIL TIMES, KEEP FOCUSED ON JESUS AND HIS DESIRES

If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will build and plant it, and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it. —Jeremiah 18:7-11

But they say, ‘That is in vain! We will follow our own plans, and will every one act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.’ —Jeremiah 18:12

            The only way a nation can survive is to turn from evil.  If it does not, eventually our Lord will “will pluck up and break down and destroy it.”  When a nation crosses the line, that only our Lord knows, then it is the beginning of the end for that nation.  The only hope a nation that is doing evil has is to repent from that evil.

            But there are those with this attitude— “That is in vain! We will follow our own plans, and will every one act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.”  When people like that are in leadership then the populace is impacted and it is only a matter of time before the destruction of that nation.  America is on the path of destruction.  Our Lord will not allow the evil that is permeating our nation to continue on without consequences.  Those consequences are already being observed and felt…

            But, as in Jeremiah’s day, so it is in our day.  We who follow our Lord Jesus are to keep our eyes fixed on Him as we run this race with perseverance that He has marked out for us.  We are to keep our eyes fixed on Him and His ways and not be conformed to the world and its ways (Hebrews 12:1-2; Romans 12:1-20).  So, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, let us not get our eyes off Him, but continue in faithfulness by the power of His Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus His Son.  Yes, Dear Father, may this be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsQmsEE_2-s
