IN HIS HANDS
Shall the axe boast over him who hews with it, or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? —Isaiah 10:15

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! —Psalm 111:10
When a person understands our Lord properly, thinks about Him properly and acts toward Him properly… then they will understand wisdom as they practice it. His works will be seen as great and all those who study them will delight in them.
Oh, then we will understand that “God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” What a joy to know this! What a comfort to know this! Knowing Him shows us the very purposes for which we live. I need not fear anyone or anything. I need to trust Him!
There are those, like the axe or saw, that would magnify themselves and not acknowledge that they cannot do anything without our Lord. They cannot even breathe apart from Him because He not only created everything, but “in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17). As a follower of Jesus I am so grateful to know that I am safe in Him and nothing can happen to me or through me without His purposes being fulfilled. I am also grateful to know that one day I will be with Him and all who love Him forever in glory— where there will be no more sin, sorrow, conflict, death, despair, wrong thoughts, wrong actions… What a glorious day that will be!
Dear Father, I am so grateful to know that Your hand is on the rudder of my life, guiding me safely to a time I will be with Jesus and all who love Him.
