LOVING FRUIT-BEARING

(21 days… Galatians 5:13-26—- If we “love our neighbor as ourself” then we will walk in the Spirit and bear His fruit)

LOVING FRUIT-BEARING

Barzillai was a very aged man, eighty years old. He had provided the king with food while he stayed at Mahanaim, for he was a very wealthy man. —II Samuel 19:32

They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the LORD is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. —Psalm 92:14-15

Our Love for our Lord and for people can be seen in many ways.  How is the Spirit encouraging you to love others?  What does He desire you to do to show God’s love to others?

“Barzillai was a very aged man, eighty years old.”  Wow… when I first read that it is a stark reminder of my age.  According to this verse I am only 12 years away from being “a very aged man.”  Anyway, even at 80 years of age Barzillai was faithfully serving.  He had resourced David by providing “the king with food while he stayed at Mahanaim, for he was a very wealthy man.”  Regardless of our age, there are ways we can still serve our Lord and His people and “still bear fruit in old age.”  So, regardless of your age, how are you serving and bearing fruit as you walk in the Spirit?

As long as we can speak we can declare the uprightness of our Lord.  We can also declare that He is our Rock and that there is absolutely “no unrighteousness in Him.  We can surely help resource others through prayer and finances.  Yes, in old age His followers can still bear fruit.  May we be doing so, regardless of our age.  And Dear Father may this be so right to my last breath by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Dear Son and my Lord Jesus.  Yes, may it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJgyQGl33kw
