POWER, WEALTH AND SEX

(Today’s fasting and prayer Scripture— Luke 24:36-53—- Proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins in the power of His Holy Spirit.  This will be my prayer focus that I seek within the hour of 6am, 12pm and 6pm)

POWER, WEALTH AND SEX

It happened, late one afternoon, when David arose from his couch and was walking on the roof of the king’s house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful. And David sent and inquired about the woman. And one said, “Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” So David sent messengers and took her, and she came to him, and he lay with her. (Now she had been purifying herself from her uncleanness.) Then she returned to her house. And the woman conceived, and she sent and told David, “I am pregnant.” —II Samuel 11:2-5

Why have you despised the word of the LORD, to do what is evil in his sight? —II Samuel 12:9

            Power, wealth and sex when practice under the power of God’s Holy Spirit is constructive.  But… when the Holy Spirit of God is not in control of a person, any evil in these three areas can occur.

            King David had power.  He had wealth.  Unfortunately, he used his position of power and wealth in an ungodly manner to practice sexual immortality with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, one of David’s most trusted and loyal soldiers.  Unbridled from God’s Holy Spirit, power or wealth or sex will lead to destructive purposes.  It is happening greatly in our culture today.

            In David’s case, he tried to cover up his sexual immorality by various schemes.  The last was to have Uriah set up in the heat of battle on the front lines of war so he would be killed.  In reality, David killed him.  This is the extent of destruction sin can have in a person’s life.

            It is the same today.  People in power unbridled from God’s Holy Spirit use their power for destructive purposes so often.  Look at the nations.  Look at the power manipulation of the people governments are over.  Power is use in evil ways to different degrees in various countries.  Kim Jong-un of North Korea is a brutal tyrant who thinks he is god.  Followers of Jesus give thanks before a meal to God, but those in North Korea give thanks to Kim Jong-un as god.  He is the only religious figure to be worshipped.  He is a wicked tyrant.

            Then you have George Soros.  He uses His wealth to promote wicked agendas.  He is not friend of freedom.  His wealth is used to fund liberal agendas that have led to the death of many.  The wealth and power of eight billionaires control the media https://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/billionaire-news/8-billionaire-moguls-control-newspapers-media/ Think about that!  People are being manipulated by the information that is being controlled by eight people.  That is very destructive!

            Then we have the whole area sex that is so destructive, being unbridled from the Holy Spirit of God.  We have such a mental/demonic influence in this are and all areas of our culture and this appears to be on the increase.  People need to come to “repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will” (II Timothy 2:25-26).  We have such sexual perversion today and the battle is in the head.  This verse says people need to “come to their senses.”  They are not thinking right and will not until they line up with what God says.  If people don’t then things will only get worse.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=On-whMoulOM

Dear Father please extend mercy by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
