HAVE A HEART OF WISDOM WITH THE TIME YOU HAVE LEFT

(Today’s fasting and prayer Scripture— I Thessalonians 2:1-13—- Followers of Jesus are family and should treat each other as such from God’s perspective.  This will be my prayer focus that I seek within the hour of 6am, 12pm and 6pm)

HAVE A HEART OF WISDOM WITH THE TIME YOU HAVE LEFT

The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away….  So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. —Psalm 90:10, 12

Reading these verses surely speaks to me as I am not 68 years old.  It is interesting how it is mentioned that our life span is 70… and “if by reason of strength 80” when the average age today is 77 years.  There is something to be said about keeping our strength up.  Now any of us could die at any time.  Two things, among so many, that we do not have control over is when we were born and when we will die.

Verse 10 spoke to me in a more powerful way one day as I pondered the cardio and weightlifting I do at the gym.  Keeping one’s strength up could increase the length of one’s life.  As I think about that, I think about Joe Lipsey.  He rode his stationary bike each day, typically, twice a day for 20 minutes.  He had pretty good health right up to his last 6 months… and then he was still active.  He lived 92 years.

However long we live we are to have a heart of wisdom.  We need to use our time wisely and for the glory of God.  So, life will be over and I  “will fly away” to glory!  Dear Father it is my desire to be more of an impact with the remainder of my life than I have been up to this time for Your Honor and glory.  May You be pleased to do this by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0sEv6RaHz4
