BLEST!

BLEST!

Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie! —Psalm 40:4

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, “Great is the LORD!”   As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God! —Psalm 40:16-17

Those who have truly trusted in the Lord are blessed, they are happy.  Why?  For many reasons.  The major one is because they understand Whose they are and that life will end here and then all those who have trusted our Lord will live together with Him in that perfect place, Heaven, forever!  Until then “let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:1-2).  What joy!  What gladness!  What happiness to know these things.

I will not follow after the prideful going astray and following a lie.  What is the lie?  It is following anything as top priority other than our Lord God Almighty.  That lie is idolatry and anyone following anyone or anything other than the Lord is following lying idolatry.  Our Lord will be priority for those who follow Him.  He will not be the priority of anyone who is not following Him.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vORSaiLVQOc&t=72s

Yes, brother and sister, fellow followers of Jesus, let us rejoice and be glad.  We love the salvation He has given us and “Great is the Lord!”  A huge part in following the Lord and trusting Him is seeing ourselves rightly.  We are spiritually poor, actually, spiritually bankrupt.  We are very needy.  Oh, how thankful we should be that our Lord thought of us, helps us and delivers us.  Without Him we would be doomed to Hell forever.

But… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD6khv6pGkw&t=74s Call on Him and He will not delay!

Dear Father I am so thankful, so joyful, so happy and rejoice that You have drawn me to Jesus through Your Holy Spirit.  I need not fear death or anything or anyone else.  Knowing You, Jesus, gives understanding to life, death and life to come.  Now may I be and do today what You desire as I finish the race You have marked out for me.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, so be it today and for the rest of my life.
