BE FAITHFUL— WE KNOW WHAT IS COMING!

When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth. When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been. —Revelation 6:7-10
When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale. The sky vanished like a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” —Revelation 6:12-17
The wrath of God is coming to this earth. He will judge it. Let us warn those around us and share the good news with them about Jesus. As we do so, don’t be surprised when opposition arises. There are those who do not want to hear the truth. Look at our culture today and see how people are readily believing lies. When we share the Truth of Jesus many will not want to hear and there are those who will oppose, but there are those our Father is drawing to Jesus and they will believe and follow Him— just like we are doing.
There is a time coming when 25% of the population is going to be killed by “sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.” Thinking about today’s population that would be around 2 billion people on this planet that would die! Wow… our eyes have never seen that type of devastation. Also, there have been martyrs down through all the ages. There are those being martyred in this present time as well because of the Name of Jesus. And there will also be other followers of Jesus martyred in the future as well.
But… there is also coming a time when the “wrath of the Lamb” will come. It will be a terrifying time of reckoning for all who do not know Jesus. Earthquake, blackened sun, blood red moon, falling stars, vanishing sky and geologic upheavals will all converge. “Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave and free, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?” The reality of Jesus will then be known by all— even by those who hate Him.
So, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, we know what is coming and we have been given the responsibility by Jesus to be witnesses to Him and disciple-makers for Him. Yes, Dear Father, and may we be faithfully about His work by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
