FELLOW FOLLOWER OF JESUS— YOU ARE A PRIEST OF GOD TO PROCLAIM HIS GOODNESS!
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. —Revelation 1:5-6
Such great news. Jesus has:
- Freed us from our sins
- Done this through shedding His blood for us
- Made us a kingdom
- Made us priests to His God and Father
- All glory
- All dominion
- This is forever and ever
Wow! Brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, this is incredible! Our sins no longer have a hold on us. We are no longer bound by them. Oh, joy upon joy, we are part of His Kingdom. King Jesus has made us priests to His God and Father. We “are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy” (I Peter 2:9-10). So let us proclaim the goodness of God to those we come into contact with. Yes, we are kingdom priests of God to declare to men the wonderful goodness of God. Let us be doing so. All glory to God! All dominion is God’s! We will be with Him forever and ever. This life is transitory and the life to come is eternal. This life is sin-marred. The life to come will be eternal and sin free. Oh, even so come Lord Jesus. I so look forward Father to being perfect, never failing You again. But, until then, may I seek to live faithfully for You now. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of King Jesus, Your Son. Yes, may this be so!
