GOD’S WORD ALWAYS PREVAILS AND COMES TO PASS! COUNT ON THAT!

GOD’S WORD ALWAYS PREVAILS AND COMES TO PASS!  COUNT ON THAT!

Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. —II Peter 3:3-7

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. —II Peter 3:9-13

People scoff and mock Jesus.  The reason they do this is so they can follow after their own sinful desires.  They love their sin more than the One who saves us from sin.  How foolish!  It is like the drowning man desiring the water that will kill him more than the lifeguard that desires to save him, but he will not allow the lifeguard to do so!  Yes, people love their sin more than our Savior Jesus!

They mock creation.  They deliberately overlook the originations of man and all that there is.  They overlook the fact that all of this was bought about by the Word of God— by God speaking it!  When God speaks it happens.  Creation happened at His Word.  The world-wide flood in Noah’s day happened at God’s Word.  And it will be by His Word that “the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”  God’s Word always prevails.  What He says will happen.  You can count on that!  When God says it is time for judgment on this world… then it will take place.

Mockers can mock and scoffers scoff, but our Lord is patient until all that will come to repentance do.  It is “then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.”  Climate change?  Man is not in control, God is.  Man will not, cannot destroy the world.  It is God who will bring on the judgment of destruction of this world.  You can count on His Word!

Brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, knowing these things ought to encourage us to live “lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”  The best is yet to come for all those who love Jesus.  The worst nightmare is coming for those who do not believe.  Trust Him now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYZw0dfLmLk

Knowing we will see Jesus one day ought to encourage us to live faithfully for Him now.  And we should have a passion to “save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh” (Jude 2:23).  Do you have this passion?  Do you really believe His Word?  Time is running out… Our lives are getting shorter and each day we have less time to do His will on this planet.  Oh, Dear Father, please help me to be about Your business, doing Your will for Your glory.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, so may it be! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL7rMNfB1Lg
