WHAT YOU SOW, YOU REAP!
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. —Ezekiel 36:26-27

For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” —I Peter 3:10-12
Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. —Galatians 6:7-10
God is not mocked! What a person, or a nation, sows/plants is what they will receive. Now we might have those who think if they plant corn then they will reap wheat. This is twisted thinking and people need to “come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants” (II Timothy 2:26).
Listen! We are in spiritual warfare and Satan is increasingly manipulating the minds of people. Their thinking is twisted. Their hearts are stone cold and in rebellion against God. We in the U.S. are becoming more and more a culture of death. Why is this? Slaughter millions of innocent, blameless and helpless babies in the womb and a sowing of cheap, valueless life attitude has been taking place in our culture. The weeds of death without consequences spread to other areas when our educational system teaches no meaning to life and focuses on just the temporary, fleshly nature of man, then we get what we got. We reap what we have sown.
And… rightly so! If we sow/plant the seeds of meaninglessness, here by chance, no accountability to God for our actions… then anything goes. What is wrong with speaking evil and deceit? If there are no absolutes then lying and deceit is OK. Evil and good are really non-existent and why should anyone tell anyone else what to do. Why work? Just take from others…. With this attitude things go down the dark road of slaughter as it did with Kim II Sung—1.6 million starved, Ismail Enver Pasha— killed up to 1.8 million Armenians, Vladimir Lenin— 7-12 million slaughtered, Hideki Tojo— 5 million, Hirothito killed— 6 million killed, Hiang Kai-Shek— 10 million killed, King Leopold II— 8 million killed, Adolf Hitler— 30 million killed, Joseph Stalin— 40 million killed, Mao— up to 80 million killed. We are seeing this murderous spirit break out in our nation. Sad, but not surprising. Don’t be naïve! Evil people to evil things. Evil does exist. Satan is out to destroy and he works in and through people to do so!
The sowing of evil, selfish ways only brings decay and destruction and that is where we are as a nation. Unless we come to our senses, repent and follow our Lord’s desires, then there is no hope for a person or a nation. Only decay and destruction is on the horizon. But, brother and sister, fellow follower of Jesus, we are to stay the course and follow our Lord Jesus whatever befalls our nation and do what is right for in due season we shall reap that which is good! So Father, please help us to continue on to do Your will for Your honor and glory. May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Precious Son, Jesus.
