The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’” —Acts 17:24-28
The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” —Acts 17:30-31
From the passages above it is very clear that:
- God created the world
- God created everything in the world
- God is the Lord of heaven
- God is the Lord of earth
- God does not live in temples made by human hands
- God is not served by human hands
- God is not in need of anything
- God gives life and breath to mankind
- God gives life and breath to everything
- God made every nation of mankind from one man
- God allotted the time man would live
- God allotted the boundaries where man would live
- God did these things that man would seek Him and find Him
- God is not far from each of us
- God allows us to live
- God allows us to move
- God allows us to have our very being
- God is recognized by a secular poet
- God overlooked times of ignorance
- God commands all people everywhere to repent
- God has fixed a day of judgment
- God has appointed His Son Jesus to be the judge
- God has given assurance of this by raising Jesus from the dead
Dear Father I am grateful for all the evidence You have given for people to believe. Oh that many would repent in the power of Your Holy Spirit and by the authority of Your Son Jesus!
