TRUTH SPEAKERS WILL FACE OPPOSITION

Jesus answered him, “If what I said is wrong, bear witness about the wrong; but if what I said is right, why do you strike me?” —John 18:23

            Now here is the same evil spirit in this verse that is seen in our culture today.  Instead of being able to dialogue differences, people are becoming violent.  So, if a person has a disagreement with another they cannot talk about that disagreement, but instead need to be physically aggressive toward the one they do not agree with.

            Somebody can be in the right, but if another person doesn’t like the right position a person takes then they lash out and in our culture this lashing out is taking on more and more physical action.  That is what happened to Jesus in the verse above.  He had never done anything wrong.  He was Truth and there was/is no falsehood or evil in Him.  Nobody could bear witness to anything wrong He had done.  He always and only did what was right and they still struck Him for it without any explanation.  They could not show falsehood, but lashed out because of their disagreement with Him.

            So it is with those who just want their own way.  In our cultural climate today (2022) there is such a wide communication divide with the Supreme court going to hand down a decision to overturn Roe vs. Wade.  What amazes me is the illogical arguments that take place.  Many think it wrong for the Supreme Court to be involved with making a decision on Roe vs. Wade.  But if that were truly the case that this was their honest belief then they should believe Roe vs. Wade should never have been presented to the court in the first place.  Of course, they agree with the court’s initial ruling because it was according to their desires to have abortion legal.  But now that the Court may be overturning that initial ruling somehow that same Court that ruled in the first place is seen as illegitimate.  Yes, people will be violent because they cannot logically defend aborting a child.  Their pseudo-science is mentally deficient and cannot prove their radical ideas through true science or simple logic.  Their critical thinking is missing.

            If abortion is right, then show by science and logic that it is right.  But if science and logic shows that it is wrong, then it is wrong.  But science is not used in this case because it proves the facts of this child being a child in the womb and that goes against the abortionists desires.  So, they will lash out violently without verbally being able to prove their position.  One who cannot prove their position through truth just yells louder…
