PRAY!

PRAY!

But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray. —Luke 5:16

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” —Luke 11:1

Jesus modeled prayer for us (Matthew 6:9-13; Luke 11:1-4; John 17).

  • That God would work in and through us in such a way that He would glorified.
  • That we desire that others receive eternal life— that they would know our Father and His Son
  • That we would finish the work He has given us and bring glory to His Name
  • That we have a desire to be with Him
  • That we would show God to others through His Word that they would obey Him
  • That others would understand we are sent by God
  • That we would be protected and be in unity
  • That we would have the joy of Jesus
  • That we would not be surprised when the world hates us
  • That we are not of this world
  • That we would be protected from the evil one
  • That we would be sanctified by the truth of His Word
  • That we have been sent into the world by Jesus
  • That we would pray for others who will believe through the message
  • That through unity the world will know that Jesus was sent and that we are loved
  • That we want others to be with Jesus in glory
  • That we know the Father sent the Son
  • That God’s Holy Character is directly related to His Name
  • That we desire God’s kingdom
  • That we desire God’s will
  • That we desire God’s provision
  • That we desire God to forgive us as we forgive others
  • That we desire God to keep us from temptation
  • That we desire God’s deliverance from the evil one

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’  “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’ ” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” —Luke 18:1-8

Dear Father please help me to be a better communicator with You.  May I persevere in payer and not give up!  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlHiDohcEEw
