FOLLOW OUR LORD WHOLEHEARTEDLY!

FOLLOW OUR LORD WHOLEHEARTEDLY!

I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly. —Joshua 14:8

Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. —Joshua 14:10-11

Now here is the example of a faithful servant of our Lord.  Caleb is a wonderful example of loving obedience.  “I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly” and our Lord blessed Him with as much strength at “eighty-five years old” as he had in his younger years!  What a marvel!  Oh, to be as strong in my older years as in my younger years would be a joy.

So many times people in their eighties do not have vitality.  Here it is said of Caleb that He was “just as vigorous to go out to battle now as” he was in his younger years.  Imagine having a bunch of eighty-five year olds fighting in our military and being just as efficient as the younger men!

Now does this mean that if we follow our Lord wholeheartedly that our strength will not fade as we age?  Well, He is able to keep us strong and it is His choice to keep us physically strong or not.  It depends on the race He has marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1-2).  But… regardless if we retain our physical strength or not, let us follow our Lord God Almighty wholeheartedly! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Sx_U0Ztr8  Yes, let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

“For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” —I Timothy 4:8

Dear Father may I follow You wholeheartedly whether I remain physically strong or not.  May this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus!
