THE GODLY TEACHER

THE GODLY TEACHER

The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?” So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. —John 7:15-18

The Lord GOD has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned. —Isaiah 50:4

Want to know if one’s teaching is from God?  If your will is to do God’s will then you will know when a person is teaching according to God’s will.  The One who is teaching according to God’s will is not seeking his own glory.  Instead he is seeking to bring honor and glory to God.  He is not self-focused, but rather is God focused.  He will be seen as speaking in the authority of God and not in his own authority.  He will also seek to be speaking the truth and not falsehood.  A person’s attitude and actions will consistently line up with what he speaks.

The person teaching God’s Word has humility, understanding who they are and understanding who they are not.  He knows that what he has was given to him and given to him to help others.  He not only loves God, but he loves people.  The godly person seeks to spend regular and consistent time with God, listening and learning from Him so he is able to serve people according to God’s desire for him.  His life is one of being a servant.  Yes, this is how you will know a godly proclaimer of God’s Word. Beware of others who do not look like this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLX83HbefrI&list=RDFLX83HbefrI&start_radio=1

Dear Father may I be wise in who I listen to and may I be one that proclaims Your Truth for Your glory.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.  Yes, so be it!
