Expected to sow see and serve others— we will give account to our LORD!

EXPECTED TO SOW SEED AND SERVE OTHERS—- WE WILL GIVE ACCOUNT TO OUR LORD!

But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? —Matthew 25:26

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ —Matthew 25:40

God has given to each of us according to our abilities that He absolutely knows.  We grow in our understanding of the abilities He has given us.  The way we do that is to apply what He has given us and as we do the abilities He has given us becomes more and more evident.  The one who is not applying the ability he understands at the present time will not grow in ability.  In the end the one who is not applying the ability our Lord has given Him will not be pleasing to Him!

Sowing the seed of God’s Word and serving others are two areas our Lord expects of us.  This means we need to be involved in people’s lives— in the lives of those who know our Lord and those who do not.  So the questions I have are: 1- How and where am I sowing God’s Word?  2- How and where am I serving others?

Who did you share God’s Word with this past week?  Who did you serve this past week?  Obedience in these areas shows that we truly love our Lord and that we also truly love people.  Sowing His seed and serving others are good indicators of faithful service.

The Lord has assigned to each his role. I planted the seed and Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. He who plants and he who waters are one in purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building. —I Corinthians 3:5-9

What abilities has God assigned to you?  Do you understand that you and I have assignments from our Lord?  Do you understand that these assignments He has given according to our abilities He understands more than we do and He makes no mistakes?  Are you seeking to be obedient in these areas that He has given you ability in to sow His seed and to serve others— being obedient to Him because we love Him?

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. —Ephesians 2:8-10

Dear Father may each one of us reading this be faithful in sowing the seed of Your Word and to serve others according to the abilities and assignments You have given us.  Yes, may we be lovingly obedient to You by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  May it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ODe4sGCKxc
