Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment. —Proverbs 18:1

Beware of all those who claim to be followers of Jesus but have isolated themselves from the Body of Christ, the church.   These people speak arrogantly against the Body of Christ as if they have all the answers.   “These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage” (Jude 1:16).  People like this are all about themselves and making disciples after themselves and not about making disciples after Jesus. They are like “savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock” It is all about distorting “the truth in order to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:29). Just as Paul warned the Ephesians so we need to heed this warning as well. Let us be aware of Satan’s schemes as he seeks to destroy people (II Corinthians 2:11; I Peter 5:8).

Again, these people are all about themselves and are unteachable. They desire to win you over to “their” way of thinking, not the Lord’s way of thinking. God’s Word is used by them, but only in seeking advantage, not in making disciples after Jesus, not in building up the Body of Christ, the church.   No, instead these people are all about seeking to draw people away from the sound teaching of God’s Word. Again, Paul, as he was moved to write by God’s Holy Spirit warned about such people. So let us be on guard against people like this that only bring disharmony and disunity.

Dear Father, thank You for Your Word and that You have not left us in the darkness.   Your Word is profitable to prepare us for all that You have for us. I am so grate to You, Holy Spirit that I can trust You to guide and give discernment.   May I be faithful by Your power and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
