HEART’S FOCUS!

HEART’S FOCUS!

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life… Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil. —Proverbs 4:23, 27

What is your heart’s focus? “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). Jesus said, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts–murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander” (Matthew 15:19). So where is your heart’s desire today, this moment? “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Luke 12:34). Are you allowing God’s Holy Spirit to direct you or are you giving in to the flesh?

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh craves what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are opposed to each other, so that you do not do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us walk in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.” —Galatians 5:16-25

So again, what is your heart’s focus? So where is your heart’s desire today, this moment? What are you treasuring? Are you allowing God’s Holy Spirit to direct you or the flesh? Look at your life? What fruit is it bearing? That is an obvious indicator according to the passage above.

Be vigilant in guarding your heart. Do not turn to the left or right from the path or from the race He has marked out for you (Hebrews 12:1-2). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Let us treasure Him above all else. Yes Dear Father may this be so by the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bb7n82IFZUo
