FEAR OF THE LORD

FEAR OF THE LORD

The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. —Proverbs 8:13

Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, A MAN WHO FEARS GOD AND SHUNS EVIL. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.” —Job 2:3

The “fear of the Lord” is to have a proper perspective on Who He is, on who we are and a desire not to do those things that displeases Him. Do you and I fear the Lord? Are we living to please Him— “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and DO WHAT PLEASES HIM” (I John 3:21-22).

The one who truly fears the Lord:

  • Hates evil— do you and I hate evil?
  • Hates pride— do you and I hate pride?
  • Hates arrogance— do you and I hate arrogance?
  • Hates the way of evil— do you and I hate the way of evil?
  • Hates perverted speech— do you and I hate perverted speech?

“There are six things the Lord hates,

seven that are detestable to him:

haughty eyes,

a lying tongue,

hands that shed innocent blood,

a heart that devises wicked schemes,

feet that are quick to rush into evil,

a false witness who pours out lies

and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” —Proverbs 6:16-19

Do you and I hate what the Lord hates? To truly fear the Lord is to hate what He hates and to love what He loves.   So let us live lives to honor what our Lord God Almighty desires. This will truly show that we fear Him. Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeksNsNrjNA
