SOW HIS SEED, EXPECT A HARVEST!

 Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. —Psalm 126:5-6

            Be faithful in sowing the seed of God’s Word.   Have a passionate heart for the lost.   They are headed for hell without Jesus.   This should bring us great sorrow.   But let us go out with His seed and plant and water it. He is the one who causes that seed to grow. We cannot make it grow, but He has given us the responsibility to sow and water as laborers with Him (I Corinthians 3:5-9). So let us be faithful in doing our part!

            Listen… if we are sowing God’s Word then there will be a harvest. You can be assured of that because—

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. —Isaiah 55:9-11

So let us trust that as we faithfully sow His Word that a harvest will come. We will be filled with joy just as “there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent” (Luke 15:7). Dear Father please help me to be faithful in sowing Your seed. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. So be it!
