GOD’S GIFT OF CHILDREN
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. —Psalm 127:3
Children are a gift from our Lord and an extension of His grace. As with any gift from God, “How are we stewarding these precious gifts He has given?” Children are meant to be a blessing, not a burden. But today there are many who see children as a burden and not a blessing. If people truly believed that children were a gift from God and a blessing from Him they would not—
- Be aborting these blessings in the womb
- Be giving others responsibility for educating these blessings
- Be relegating the responsibility of caring for these blessings to others
- Be allowing others to shape the character of these blessings
- Be abandoning these blessing to fend for themselves
- Be allowing the promotion of drug use among these blessings
- Be allowing these blessings to be trafficked
- Be allowing these blessings to die of hunger
- Be allowing these blessing to be gender manipulated
- Be allowing these blessings not to hear about Jesus
Any gift that you would give to another you give to bring joy to their lives. Children are to be a joy to our lives, but how many people are not experience joy from having children? Or, how many people are not seeing these children as gifts from God? A gift received and not treated as the giver desires brings great sadness. Dear Father I thank You for our children and may each one of them, their spouses and their children follow You. May this be so down through their lineage to the end of this age. That is our heart’s desire above all else for them. May You also work through us to affect many other children and families for Your Honor and glory. Yes, may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
