THY WORD IS TRUTH!
THY WORD IS TRUTH!
But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it. —Deuteronomy 30:14
But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved… ” —Romans 10:8-13, 17
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. —II Timothy 3:16-17
Those who reject the Word of God are in the eternal danger of hell. God graciously gave His Word so that we can lovingly be obedient to what He has to say. “All Scripture” which includes both Old and New Testaments were given to “equip us for every good work.”
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” —Ephesians 2:4-10
Yes, God’s Word is our blueprint for life. His Word “is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12).
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do” (James 1:22-25)..
God’s Word points out the error in our lives, shows how to correct the wrongs, trains us in right living that we can be servants of God prepared for the work He has for us. His Word points us to Him for salvation. It is self-deception to hear God’s Word and fail to keep it. It is self-deception not to accept His Word. It is anti-Christ to reject His Word.
Dear Father we thank You for giving us Your Word that we might know what is right, what is wrong, how to live to please You and all that Your Word encompasses. May I faithfully live for You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gk9qDuAZtE
