HARD HEARTS
HARD HEARTS
They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the LORD Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the LORD Almighty was very angry. —Zechariah 7:12
There are those who make the choice to harden their hearts. They will not listen to God’s Word. They would not listen to God’s messengers sent by His Spirit to speak to them. God is not happy with people who harden their hearts like this.
Think about this— “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart: (Hebrews 4:12). This does not happen when people will not listen because “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ” (Romans 10:17). If people intentionally plug their ears to the Truth of God’s Word then they are doomed forever in hell. They can reject the truth like denying gravity, but as gravity prevails in reality so will the Truth of God’s Word.
If your employer gave you written instructions how to carry out your day and you disregarded them and did what you wanted to do, what do you think His reaction would be? God has given us His written instruction as to how to live life to honor Him and for our benefit, what do you think His reaction will be to rejecting His Word? We do not have to guess. We are told above that He is very angry when people harden their hearts and will not listen to His Word.
The choices— Heaven or Hell— to listen to God’s Word and be lovingly obedient to Him… or to have a hardened heart against His Word and be unlovingly disobedient to Him. Those are the choices. There are no others. Those are the destinies. There are no others. A person’s destiny is tied to whether one has a hardened unlistening heart to God’s Word or whether one’s heart is soft and listening to God’s Word. Which will it be for you?
Dear Father it is my desire to hear what You have to say and to lovingly obey. May this be the case through the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus for the rest of my life. Change My Heart Oh God ~ Maranatha! Music ~ lyric video – YouTube
