OVERCOMERS!

OVERCOMERS!

 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;

they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. —Revelation 12:11

             We are victorious through the blood of Jesus.   There is no other way to be saved.   It is only through the finished work of Jesus on the cross that we can overcome sin, Satan, and death eternal.   It is only through Jesus’ sacrificial work and our trusting that work that we can even have a testimony. But as evidence of having trusted in Jesus final work we speak words of testimony to people that they may come to trust Him as well.

            Those of us who have truly trusted Jesus for salvation have God’s Holy Spirit residing in us. He is greater than the spirit of anti-Christ in the world, greater than any demons and greater than Satan. We are overcomers by our faith in Jesus (I John 5:1-5).

 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. —I John 4:1-6

It is very clear— Those who adhere to the Word of God, having trusted Jesus for salvation are overcomers. Knowing they are overcomers they seek to share this with others so they can be overcomers in Jesus as well. Christmas 2020— this is what Christmas is all about— “Jesus came to save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. –Romans 8:37-39).

            We are made fit for heaven because of our Faithful Lord and the grace and mercy that flow from His finished work on the cross. Father I am so grateful for this You have done for me through Your Son and Your Holy Spirit. Now may I live faithfully according to Your desires in and through my life. May it be so! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP_XATZQ8sU
