PLEA FOR MERCY

PLEA FOR MERCY

As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this calamity has come upon us; yet we have not entreated the favor of the LORD our God, turning from our iniquities and gaining insight by your truth. Therefore the LORD has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, for the LORD our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and we have not obeyed his voice. —Daniel 9:13-14

For we do not present our pleas before you because of our righteousness, but because of your great mercy. —Daniel 9:18

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. —Hebrews 4:16

Our nation is a wicked nation. Our Lord will bring calamity upon a nation according to His purposes. “America, America God shed His grace on thee” is a song not heard so much anymore. He has extended much grace to America. Now we need His mercy. “America, America God’s mercy be to thee.”

“Yet we have not entreated the favor of the LORD our God, turning from our iniquities and gaining insight by your truth.” Has the church in the U.S. come to a place of repentance for its disobedience?   We can be quick to point the finger at the lost culture for all the wrongs that are happening around us, but is the Church much different from it? Are we truly seeking and “gaining insight” through His Truth, His Word?

Oh let we, the Church, present our pleas before Him who is merciful. Let us come before that “throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Yes, fellow followers of Jesus in America, let us come before that “throne of grace” and seek God’s mercy” for America with an attitude of repentance. May God be pleased to extend His mercy toward us in our nation’s time of great need. May His people seek to be what He desires!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGLwJNYu7q8 May it be so!

Dear Father, we are a wicked nation. We have pretty much turned our backs to You. The Church Jesus died for has not been faithfully about Your work. Oh, may we turn to You as a Church and be faithfully and lovingly obedient. Please extend Your mercy toward us. May we serve You faithfully in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus. May it be so!
