GOD GETTING YOUR ATTENTION!
The word of the LORD came to me: “And you, O son of man, thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. And my eye will not spare you, nor will I have pity, but I will punish you for your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the LORD. “Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster after disaster! Behold, it comes. An end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you. Behold, it comes. Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. The time has come; the day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting on the mountains. Now I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the LORD, who strikes. “Behold, the day! Behold, it comes! Your doom has come; the rod has blossomed; pride has budded. Violence has grown up into a rod of wickedness. None of them shall remain, nor their abundance, nor their wealth; neither shall there be preeminence among them. The time has come; the day has arrived. —Ezekiel 7:1-12
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. —Hebrews 10:24-25
There is no doubt that what we are experiencing with this virus world-wide is a wake-up call from God. Here in the U.S. it very surely is. When we look at the wickedness of our nation— the slaughter of over 60 million children in the womb, the rebellion against God’s design for marriage, the focus on materialism, the love of money, the love for power, the desire that God not be in the public square, the pushing of God out of our schools, the form of religion and yet not the power of God’s Holy Spirit… Yes, our nation is a rebellious nation as was Israel and Judah.
But God does not remain silent forever while a nations rebel against Him. There comes a time when He acts against a nation and when He does there is nothing anybody can do to stop His hand. So it was with Israel and Judah… so it will be with the U.S. and any other rebellious nation. When judgment comes from God there is no stopping it.
So what do faithful followers of Jesus do when judgment comes from God’s hand? They are to continue to be faithful. They are to continue to love God, love people and make disciples. Faithful followers of Jesus are to let their light shine whatever situation they find themselves in. Hebrews 10:24-25 is clear that instead of backing off of loving and doing good works we instead are to stir each other on even more and more to do so as the Day approaches. We are to keep gathering together with other believers and not isolate. We are to keep loving God and people and serve.

Dear Father oh that I would turn from my ways more and more and seek to follow Your ways more and more. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
