BY GOD’S GRACE YOU ARE!

But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone. —Galatians 1:15-16

            God had a plan for Saul in His timing as He does for us (Acts 17:26).   He drew him to Jesus as He did us (John 6:44). And so it is with others who have not responded to Jesus yet but will. They will respond by our taking the message to them as our Father works in us and through us as we are lovingly obedient to Him (Romans 10:13-17; John 14:6).

            This is all by God’s grace! It was by His grace that He saved us (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is by His grace that He works in us (Hebrews 13:21). It is by His grace that He works through us (Ephesians 2:10).   Yes, our life in Him is all by grace. “For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?” (I Corinthians 4:7). Paul summed God’s grace up this way— “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me” (I Corinthians 15:10). Dear Father may I be faithful with the measure of grace You have given to me.   May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son Jesus.
