READY FOR THE COMING JUDGMENT

For the LORD of hosts has a day against all that is proud and lofty, against all that is lifted up—and it shall be brought low. — Isaiah 2:12

              God is a God of love— “God is love” (I John 4:8).   But God is a God of wrath and judgment as well to all who are against Him— “But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them–bring them here and kill them in front of me” (Luke 19:27). So the question is— Do you want Jesus to be King over you? Is He the King over You? Are you seeking to love Him with all your being and seeking to love people as you love yourself? (Matthew 22:37-40).

              Death is a serious issue. We are all going to die. But do you know why death occurs? It is because of not heeding His warning that disobedience to Him would be death (Genesis 2:16-17). “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12).   We die because we are all sinners.   That is who we are and that is why there is evil in this world. Man’s rebellious choice.

              We will see the Lord, whether we believe it or not, to give account of our lives. It is an appointment we will not miss (Hebrews 9:27). For those who have truly called on the Lord and are saved (Romans 10:13) heaven will be their destiny because of what Jesus has done for them.   But to those who have never called on His Name for salvation from sin and to a relationship with Him— they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire where they will be forever and ever (Revelation 20:15). I cannot fathom that, but I sure am glad that I know Jesus, have called on Him to save me and now am seeking to live for Him. I am so glad that I will be with Him in heaven one day. How about You?

              There is coming a day when Jesus will return to this earth. It will be a day of judgment upon this world. All the prideful and rebellious people against Him will be judged. The rebellious living at the time of His coming will want to hide from His terror and majesty because they then understand “the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to withstand it” (Revelation 6:17). All those spouting lofty, worldly, ungodly things against Him will be in utter fear at His return or when they die and appear in His presence. Dear Father I am so overjoyed that You drew me to Jesus and I was able to call on His Name for salvation from sin and to a relationship with Him. Now my I live faithfully and encourage others to do the same thing. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
