KEEP HIS WORD!

The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words…. I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts… I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts… I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. 105 Psalm 119:57, 63, 94, 101-104

            Do I truly see the Lord as my portion and is it really my desire to keep His Word? Oh, may it be so! Am I seeking out those who fear You and keep Your Word as my companions? May it be so!   How does my life bear evidence that I am His and that I seek out His Word? Oh that my life would reflect a keeping of His Word and a shunning of evil.   Oh Lord it is my desire that You teach me and that Your Word would truly be my priority. It is only though Your Word that I get understanding and truly, may I hate false ways and cling to Your Truth!

            If I am out in the middle of a deep dark forest on a mountain at night, trying to get out, I would want a light, a map and a compass. If I were out on the ocean far from land on a dark moonless night I would want a light, a map and a compass. I would highly prized these and guard them as not to lose them. Oh, so it is with the Word of God. God’s Word is a Light, a Map and a Compass to enable us to navigate in this dark world and to lead others out. Guard His Word and keep His Word! Dear Father may I be an instrument of Yours to do exactly that— to rescue those in the darkness as You work in and through me.
