David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,

“Praise be to you, Lord, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.

Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. —I Chronicles 29:10-13

Following our Lord God Almighty is not just some religious business. No, following Him is to do so out of relationship. When that occurs we thank and praise Him for Who He is. We acknowledge that He is eternal and so far above us. Knowing Him gives us a clearer perspective of who we are and should cause great joy to well up in us for Him loving us.

He is great. He is powerful. He is glorious. He is majesty. He is splendor. He is owner.   He is King. He is exalted over all. He is the originator of wealth. He is the originator of honor. He is ruler over all things. He has strength. He has power to exalt. He gives strength.

What is to be our response? We are to give thanks to Him.

We are to praise His glorious Name.

Do know Him? Then how will you respond?

All thanks and praise to You my Lord and God. Yes, may this be more of my life— to give you thanks and praise more often. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of my Lord Jesus. So be it!
