THE LORD IS WITH YOU

THE LORD IS WITH YOU

It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. —Deuteronomy 31:8

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand. —Deuteronomy 32:39

See? Our Lord will not leave us nor forsake us! We do not need to be distressed, distraught, troubled, anxious, disturbed or worried. Are you feeling any of that? As followers of Jesus we are encouraged by our Lord not to be feeling these things!   Why? Because He goes before us. He is with us. He will not leave us. He will not forsake us. Got it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUzrNrmqFS8

There is no god besides our God. Yes, He kills. Yes, He makes alive. Yes, He wounds. Yes, He heals. And yes, nobody can deliver out of His hand. We have such a small picture of what is happening in His plans and purposes.   Again, as Job has said—

By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.  He loads the thick cloud with moisture; the clouds scatter his lightning.  They turn around and around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world.  Whether for correction or for his land or for love, he causes it to happen. —Job37:10-13

We are told in these verses that storms move “around by his guidance, to accomplish all that he commands them on the face of the habitable world.” He is guiding everything whether storms or sickness or anything else. He works through all things. He is either the Sovereign Lord of all creation or not.   We are told here that He guides these storms either for: 1-corrective discipline 2- for His land to accomplish His purposes or 3- because of His love. So He works through all things to accomplish His plans.

What is He doing through this corona virus? No doubt He is seeking to bring correction in people’s lives through this discipline process. It is also a reminder that where we live is His land and we are to be stewards of it.   Surely He wants to show His love through this as well as His people extend His love toward others and not draw back. So, what does He want to do in your life? As followers of Jesus, whatever He desires to do in our lives, He has said that He will never leave us and that ““The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6) and that He is with us “even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

“Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the LORD God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished” (I Chronicles 28:20). “I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man” (I Kings 2:2).

Dear Father I am so grateful that I need not fear anything or anyone because I know that You are sovereign over all things. This is such a comfort to know. Now, may I be about the business that You would have me about. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus. So be it!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4x8TZiwPGa0
