For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you. —I Chronicles 29:14

For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? —I Corinthians 4:7

This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed.  Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. —I Corinthians 4:1-2

What are the things that God has entrusted you with?  “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” (Psalm 24:1).  You and I received from His hand responsibility to serve wherever we are.  He has entrusted us with His wealth, with His Word and with His wisdom.  Worship takes place when we lovingly offer to Him what He has given us.  We do this by serving Him in whatever capacity.

Are you serving Him with your time?  Are you serving Him with your talents?  Are you serving Him with your treasures?  All of these that you have came from His hand.  There is no place for boasting as if we acquired them ourselves and did not receive these things from Him.  “He himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else” (Acts 17:25).  Let us be faithful and joyful in what He has given us.  May it be so.            Since all is His that He has given us may we have open hands to help others in need.  Oh Dear Father may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.  So be it!
