REMEMBER THE POOR

REMEMBER THE POOR

Blessed is the one who considers the poor. —Psalm 41:1

All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along. —Galatians 2:10

There are those who are poor in this world.  That is their present state and the church is called to remember them and to be eager to do so.  How are you and I doing in this area?  How is the local church we attend doing in this area of ministering to the poor.  Now this is specifically talking about people who are materially poor.

Jesus said, “The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me.”  There you have it.  Jesus said that poor people will always be.  That is just how it is in this fallen world.  But He also said we “can help them any time we want.”  The Apostle Paul was asked by James, Peter and John to “remember the poor.”  This was something that Paul was “eager to do.”

How eager is our local church to help the poor?  Whether it is locally or globally, how is our local church helping the poor?  How are we as individuals helping the poor?  Do we want to help the poor?  Praise God there is coming a time when there will be no more poor!  Until then let us be faithful in helping them! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3yUyDzP3z4

Dear Father help me as an individual and we as a local church to extend help to the poor as You desire.  May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
