Like a muddied spring or a polluted well are the righteous who give way to the wicked. —Proverbs 25:26

The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. —Proverbs 28:1

Access to clean water is a great blessing. To be able to drink water right out of the tap day after day is something that is taken for granted by many. Millions upon millions live without access to safe, clean water every day. These precious people spend hours each day just getting water for the basic needs of life. So many of these people only have water available from muddied water or water that is polluted. Every 90 seconds a child dies from a water related disease.

Who would run to use dirtied water if there was fresh, clean water available? But this is what it is like when the “righteous give way to the wicked.” This is what has happened and is happening in schools around the United States and in our culture in general. Instead of the righteous standing “as bold as a lion” they are giving way to the wicked and a spiritual darkness is eclipsing our nation.

Wickedness was once dammed up by the righteous influence of the followers of Jesus. That dam has crumbled and is crumbling as the righteous influence of Believers wanes and the flood of wickedness gushes forth. The righteous need once again “stand as bold as a lion” in the power of His Holy Spirit and not give way to the wicked! Oh yes, may this be so!

Dear Father, may I “stand as bold as a lion” and not give way to the wicked. Oh, may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son, Jesus.
