LITTLE IS MUCH WHEN GOD IS IN IT!

“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” —John 6:9

But he answered, “You give them something to eat.” They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?” “How many loaves do you have?” he asked. “Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five—and two fish.” —Mark 6:37-38

Think about this— take more than half of your year’s income to give people one meal. That is what it would have taken to feed these 5,000 men in the context of the verses above. One meal, more than half a year’s wage! Think of all your time and effort that would have gone into making over a half year’s wages and it would have taken that to provide this one meal for the 5,000 men mentioned in these verses above.

Five small barley loaves of bread and two small fish— how could this great multitude be fed with the meager meal this boy had? How can I be impacting with what little I have? How can you be impacting with what little you have? How can a small fellowship of believers have any type of impact in this world? The answer is not with us… it is with the Lord God Almighty. So may we listen to Him and do as He directs.
