MY ROCK
MY ROCK
“But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?” —John 5:45-47
Moses and all the Old Testament pointed to Jesus. If the Jewish leaders truly believed on what the Old Testament and Moses said then they would have believed what Jesus said. But this is the reality of it— they knew what the Word of God said, but they did not put their trust in His Word nor do His Word. They were like “everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash” (Matthew 7:26-27).
Brothers and sisters let us be like “everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25). As we hear and do His Word we are safe and secure on the Rock! Jesus is that Rock— “They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ” (I Corinthians 19:3-4). Let us rejoice in our firm foundation— Jesus Christ our Rock! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5zY3odoE5E&index=124&list=PLvRUuNgGepxczljDE5Im3GbN4ojILH9jx
Dear Father I thank You for the security of my Eternal Rock. I am grateful to be found upon Him who will never be moved. Out of gratitude may I live a life that is pleasing to You. May it be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
