WARN OF THE WRATH TO COME!

WARN OF THE WRATH TO COME!

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son…. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. —John 3:18, 36

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. —Hebrews 10:31

“Turn from you evil ways or be condemned forever!” That is what the Lord said to me back in February of 1979. The message came across loud and clear. There was no mistaking it and it shook me to my core. I knew if I were to die at that moment I was in eternally deep trouble. God’s wrath was on me and it would be a “terrifying thing” to die in that condition. But thank God for His mercy and grace. Once He truly got my attention I was open to the gospel and accepted it readily.

People don’t fear the coming judgment. They take it lightly and make jokes about it. You know like— “All my friends are going to be in hell and we will party” and other unfortunate and ignorant statements, not having a clue what hell is going to be like.

Jesus told a story to give us an idea of what hell will be like and it is not going to be a party with friends that are there in hell as well.

“There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores. “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’ “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set in place, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.’ “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ “ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ” —Luke 15:19-31

Dear Father help me to warn people of the consequences of rejecting Jesus. Please help me grow in loving compassion for people. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEhRucEVzH8
