GO INTO THE HARVEST

GO INTO THE HARVEST

“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.” —John 4:34-38

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. —Matthew 9:38

Are we involved in the harvest? How are we involved in the harvest? It is hard to be involved in the harvest if we are not involved in lost people’s lives. Jesus was willing to be involved in lost people’s lives. Even lives others didn’t think very much of— the outcasts.

Who have I talked with recently about Jesus? Will I talk with somebody today? Tomorrow? Next week? May the Lord give us a compassionate heart for the lost. Oh, that He would be pleased to draw many others to Himself through us. Yes, may it be so.

Dear Father please help me to boldly proclaim the gospel of Your Son. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus.
