SHOW FORTH HIS GLORY!

SHOW FORTH HIS GLORY!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. —Genesis 1:1

Accepted or rejected, the above verse will determine a person’s world-view— how a person thinks, how a person filters information, what a person believes, how a person lives and the destiny of where a person goes after death. It is all wrapped up in this opening sentence of God’s Word.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:1-5).

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:15-16).

“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word” (Hebrews 1:1-3).

Yes, as we begin this New Year of 2018 our mindset on Genesis 1:1 and all that is packed into that one verse will determine our thoughts, choices, actions and activity in this New Year. This verse will determine what we think about Jesus, who He is, why He came, His death, His resurrection, His ascension and His coming back. For those of us who have called on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:13) this verse brings great comfort because we know that just as God created all things by design and for purpose He has also created us by design and for purpose. May we live out those purposes to bring glory to His Name in this New Year of 2018. So be it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-zJHgaoVa4

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world” (Psalm 19:104).

Dear Father, thank You for the years You have given me to live. May You be pleased to work through my liFe in a greater way this year to bring greater glory to Your Name. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Your Son.
