And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” —Revelation 5:9-10

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—so that they should live on forever and not see decay… But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead. He will surely take me to himself. —Psalm 49:7-9

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. —I Peter 1:18-20

Do you truly understand how valuable your life is to God? Have you sincerely stopped and meditated on the cost that made it possible for you to be redeemed? This is a work that no mere man could accomplish according to Psalm 49:7-9 above. No payment would ever, ever be enough to redeem one person. The 7.3 billion people, if they were willing, could not redeem you! All of creation, if it were willing, could not redeem you! It cost the Eternal Son of God’s shed blood on the cross to redeem you and every other person who will call on His Name (Romans 10:13).

Now He has given us marching orders to go into all the world to be witnesses and disciple makers (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20). Are you being obedient in this? How so? And if not, then why not? Jesus’ words are very clear on this…

Dear Father, thank You for Your great love for me. Oh, that I would love You and be obedient to what You desire me to be and do. May this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus Your Son.
