HE SUSTAINS YOU!
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. —Hebrews 1:3
The world is a mess because of the Fall of Man back in Genesis chapter three. Everything that is negative stems from that time. All people are affected and all of Creation is affected. And yet, it still is able to exist because of what we learn in the verse above— Jesus “sustaining all things by his powerful word.” Take comfort because He is still in control even when the world seems out of control. If it wasn’t for Jesus this world and all of Creation would not exist.
Even though all of Creation is in a fallen state, it is still a marvel. Recently I was watching a gray squirrel shuck the outside of a walnut and then run off with his prized possession to hide it away for this winter. His little front feet clutched and turned the nut as his sharp teeth stripped the outside soft casing of the nut away. As I thought through some of the process of what was taking place before me I could not help but praise our Lord God Almighty for designing this whole practice of this squirrel I was viewing. He designed this squirrel to be able to do exactly what he was doing. He gave the knowledge to this squirrel to understand the nut of this tree at this time of the year could be harvested sustain him through the winter. Whether it is this squirrel I was watching or microscopic events or things taking place in the Universe hundreds of light years away… Jesus sustains it all— AWESOME! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-zJHgaoVa4
Today He will sustain you in all that may come your way— the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. He will sustain you! Rejoice in that!
Dear Father, I do rejoice in knowing that regardless of what comes my way that I can trust You fully. Now, out of the gratitude in my heart for Who You are and all that you do, may I faithfully serve You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus with thanksgiving! So be it!
