A WARNING TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT TRUSTED JESUS

And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment. —I Thessalonians 1:10

Does a person really want to be on the wrong side of the Lord God Almighty and the terrors of His coming judgment? “It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). Judgment is coming. People can deny it, but by denying it does not mean they can stop it any more than they can stop the day of their death!— “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

People will come up with anything, even the most ridiculous ideas to deny who Jesus is. They are hypocritical in the sense that many who do not know the Lord use His Name often to punctuate their sentences. If Jesus was not alive they would not do this, but they blaspheme His Name in rebellion (Exodus 20:7). Truly, if Jesus was dead you would not hear His Name taken in vain this way, but He is alive, risen from the dead and proved to be the Son of God (Romans 1:4).

Warning! Here is the end for all those who don’t want anything to do with Jesus— “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11-15).

There are those who make fun of hell— “All my friends will be there. We’ll have a good time.” Really? Here’s a glimpse of what it will be like— “The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame” (Luke 16:22-24).
