THE COMING KING!
Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will kill him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming. This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth. —II Thessalonians 2:8-12
Don’t be discouraged by all the evil that is going on in the world today. Jesus is going to destroy all that by the “splendor of his coming.” That could very well happen in our lifetime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbjhhDvU88U Yes, we are going to see Jesus. He is the Victor. He has the Name above all names. He is our King!
When Jesus comes He will destroy the Anti-Christ and all who follow that beast with His mouth alone (Revelation 19:21). Why will these people and all who do not want to trust in the Lord Jesus be thrown into the Lake of Fire? It is “because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.” It is also “for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.”
This “enjoying evil rather than believing the truth” is nothing new. We see this desire shortly after the fall with the first two sons born to Adam and Eve. The reason Cain killed Abel “is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. So don’t be surprised, dear brothers and sisters, if the world hates you” (I John 3:11-13).
So it is today and will be until Jesus destroys evil once and for all. Brothers and sisters are being persecuted and killed today for loving the Truth and living righteous for Jesus. It is so sad that people rather enjoy evil rather than believing the truth— would rather kill for evil than encourage life through righteousness. But let you and I honor our Lord by living righteously according to His desires. May it be so!
Dear Father, I so look forward to being with Jesus in Heaven with all those who love you. Oh, glorious day. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
