JUDGMENT TO COME
When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape. —I Thessalonians 5:3
And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels, in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. I was talking with a young man yesterday about Jesus and he told me how his mother went to church, but how he thought it was a “bunch of garbage.” He is swallowing the present day communications that “man is going to destroy himself.” How sad that people will quickly accept what others say on a wide variety of topics, but will not believe what God’s Word says, who Jesus is and their need to come to Him. According to the verses above there is coming a judgment day and the outcome for those who have not trusted Jesus is not good! People can deny and disbelieve all they want, but the fact of the matter is that we are going to all die and then judgment will come (Hebrews 9:27) — judgment seat of Christ for the believer (II Corinthians 5:10) and the White Throne Judgment for the unbeliever (Revelation 20:15).
It is so comforting to me to know that the Lord God Almighty will set all things straight in the end. Nobody is getting away with anything— not me or anyone else. The perfectly right thing will be done by the Lord Jesus on judgment day. I am grateful to know that Jesus took my condemnation at the cross and that I will never have to. May I live in such a way that honors Him.
But for those who have not trusted Jesus there will be condemnation forever in the Lake of Fire. If you have not trusted Jesus then you better run to Jesus for forgiveness of sin and new life in Him. This is not joke. People take this so lightly, but one day you will be on your deathbed or killed instantly. None of us knows how we are going to die, but you better be ready. Dear Father, I thank You that I am safe in Jesus. No matter what happens to me in this life nothing can separate me from His love. I am grateful. Now may I honor You by living according to Your desires in the Name of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit’s power.
