REPENT OR FACE JUDGMENT!

REPENT OR FACE JUDGMENT!

For great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out on us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do according to all that is written in this book.” —II Chronicles 34:21

Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will bring disaster upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the curses that are written in the book that was read before the king of Judah. Because they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands, therefore my wrath will be poured out on this place and will not be quenched. —II Chronicles 34:24-25

And Josiah took away all the abominations from all the territory that belonged to the people of Israel and made all who were present in Israel serve the LORD their God. All his days they did not turn away from following the LORD, the God of their fathers. —II Chronicles 34:33

The LORD, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD rose against his people, until there was no remedy. Therefore he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or aged. He gave them all into his hand. —II Chronicles 36:15-17

Be sure that God is not only a God of love, but He is also a God of wrath, a God of judgment of sinful rebellion! In the verses above the Jewish nation would experience the judgment of God through war and exile. The northern part of the nation had already been judged by Assyria and scattered.   Now Judah was on the verge of war.   All this happened because of their rebelling against God.

King Josiah understood from the Book of the Law that was found, after being neglected, that God’s judgment was upon them for disobedience.   The Lord brought revival through Josiah and judgment was averted in his lifetime. But judgment would come soon after his death. This King had a positive influence on the people he ruled all the days of his life. “All his days they did not turn away from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.” Then, after his death, the people rebelled again…

The Lord had great compassion and patience with His people, these rebellious people. He sent messengers to them again and again, but His people mocked them, despised God’s Word and scoffed at His prophets. Then a line was crossed. “The wrath of the LORD rose against his people, until there was no remedy.” He would raise up the Chaldeans against them “who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or aged. He gave them all into his hand.”

Oh America, heed the warning given to us in this passage!   Despise God’s Word, mock His messengers and this land will suffer the judgment of God. Yea, it already has started by God giving us over to sinful and degrading sexual desires, by worshipping the creation rather than the Creator, by shameful homosexual lusts, by depraved minds and the slippery slope that leads into even deeper and deeper darkness. Thinking we are wise, we become fools (Romans 1:18-32). The nation needs to repent and it starts with the church to be the church Jesus desires! Will we repent and be faithful to His Word? Will we truly live for Him, be obedient in doing His will or just have head knowledge? Have we crossed a line where there will be no remedy or will we repent and seek Him? Have we not learned anything from this world-wide COVID19 “shutdown?” Time will tell… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_gBpvihKcQ&list=UUf1NPIFOBwzTLVQiEDnq4Cw

Oh Dear Father I thank You for Your great compassion and patience toward these United Sates. Please send Your messengers with power proclaiming Your Word to call the nation back to You. Oh may this be so in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. So be it!
