THE WAY OF SALVATION IS FINISHED! CALL ON HIM!

THE WAY OF SALVATION IS FINISHED! CALL ON HIM!

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished…—John 19:28

Jesus said, “It is finished.” —John 19:30

Our sin debt has been paid. There is no more sacrifice for sin. Jesus was the final, the perfect, the sinless Lamb of God who saves completely those who call upon Him (Hebrews 10:26; John 19:4, 6; Romans 10:13; Hebrews 7:25).

Do you think you are a good person? Most people would say yes. Look at God’s standard of perfection, the Ten Commandments. Have you kept them perfectly?

1-You shall have no other gods before me.

2-You shall not make for yourself an idol.

3-You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God

4-Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

5-Honor your father and your mother.

6-You shall not murder.” This is a command against the premeditated murder of another human being.

7-You shall not commit adultery.” This is a command against having sexual relations with anyone other than one’s spouse.

8-You shall not steal.” This is a command against taking anything that is not one’s own, without the permission of the person to whom it belongs.

9-You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

10-You shall not covet.

We are all guilty of breaking God’s standard of perfection. We are all headed for Hell. That is the bad news, but the good news is when Jesus said, “It is finished” that meant He took the penalty and punishment that we deserved. Now He offers the free gift of salvation to all who call on His Name.   When we call on His Name we are saved from our sin to a relationship with God through Him. We have eternal life which starts the moment we call on Him.   We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of God showing His ownership on us and guaranteeing our inheritance in Heaven.   Yes, we are all guilty, but the guilt can be erased in a moment when we call on Jesus to save us in sincerity. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).  “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romams10:13). Call on Him now!

Dear Father I thank You for all that Jesus has done in my life.   Thank you for Your forgiveness, thank You for eternal life, thank You that I can know You and live for You now and be with You forever in Heaven one day. Thank You for showing me why I am living and my purpose. May I live faithfully for You in the power of Your Holy Spirit and in the authority of Jesus. May it be so
