But who is able to build a house for Him, since the heavens, even the highest heavens, cannot contain Him? —II Chronicles 2:6
My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your salvation all day long, though I cannot know their full measure. —Psalm 71:15
Look into the furthest depths of the universe. Has man been able to? We do see for quite some distance and then man “estimates” how large it may be. But this isn’t the final size any more than man could only see 10,000 stars without magnification in days gone by. One thing we do know… the universe is gigantic and much bigger than we can know!
Then as we consider the universe, ponder that all of the universe cannot and could not contain God! This understanding of Who God is baffles us and so far beyond us. We only understand Him by what He has revealed of Himself and that is contained in His Word, the Bible.
Not only can we not understand the immensity of God, we cannot, as David said, understand the full measure neither of His righteousness nor of His salvation. We can understand what He has revealed to us, but there is so, so much more we do not understand. Read Job chapters 38-40.
One thing is for sure— He has called us to declare what we know of His righteousness, His salvation and all that we know of Him. Wow… what a privilege, what a responsibility, what a joy and may we seek to be faithful in it all.
Yes Dear Father may I seek to declare You faithfully to others. May this be done in Your Holy Spirit’s power and in the authority of Jesus.
