WONDERFUL NAME OF JESUS
Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes. —Romans 10:4
“Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe” (Galatians 3:21-22).
There are none on this planet that are righteous, no, not one person (Romans 3:10). Therefore, none can become righteous on their own. The Law was given to show us this, but the Law did not have the power to impart life — “I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death” (Romans 7:10). “He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?”(II Corinthians 3:6-8).
We had no righteousness on our own, but the above verse tells us that Jesus is the culmination of the Law. Only He could fulfill the Law as the Righteous Holy Son of God. Now all those who call on His Name have His righteousness imparted to them, credited to them (Romans Chapter 4)— “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21). This is truly amazing, astounding! Oh, now may we live a life that is pleasing to Him! Rejoice!
Dear Father, yes, I yearn for perfection in Heaven, but, until I am there may I live a faithful life to honor Your Name. Oh, may it be so in the authority of my Lord Jesus and in the power of Your Holy Spirit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3HH__-1Zbs
